No seriously... this is your sign to go outside for a little bit. Life gets busy. School gets stressful. Work piles up. Phones never stop buzzing. Sometimes we get so caught up in surviving the week that we forget we're allowed to pause and enjoy things too.
"Touch grass" has become a funny internet phrase, but honestly? The message behind it is honest and fair. Step away from the screen. Get some sunlight. Take a walk. Sit outside with friends. Listen to music in the car with the windows down. Be present somewhere other than online for a moment. You do not have to earn rest.
You do not have to be productive every second of the day. And you are allowed to take care of yourself before burnout forces you to.
This month, try finding one thing that makes you feel grounded, calm, or connected even if it's small. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do is slow down long enough to remember we're actual people, not just notifications and deadlines. So, here's your official reminder from us:
Drink some water. Unclench your jaw. Take a breath. And go touch grass. |

| CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH TOGETHER |
On June 19 we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States. It's a time to honor freedom and celebrate history, culture and hope. Juneteenth reminds us how important community is. When we come together, we can lift each other up and help everyone feel like they belong.
In the spirit of touching grass, consider attending one of the many events offered by Juneteenth Lehigh Valley! During the week of June 13-20, there are multiple events with something for everyone; the Juneteenth Children's Festival, a parade, and even a 5K walk/run! Events like these, where we can gather, learn, and celebrate with others help build strong communities where everyone feels welcome.

Emmaus Theater Students Take the Spotlight for Turning Point |
In March, the Emmaus High School Theater Department presented Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical. This production received 14 Freddy Award nominations and was well-received by audiences. In addition to the time and effort Emmaus theater students put into this show to make it a success, they also took the time to do something special for the survivors of Turning Point of Lehigh Valley. The Emmaus High School Theater Department proudly presented a check for an amazing $5,232.00 to Turning Point. These funds were raised during the production of Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical.
Jill Kuebler, Theater Director for Emmaus High School, stated that "although Jekyll & Hyde deals with difficult themes, I believe that if handled in a sensitive and educationally appropriate manner, these themes can be an impetus to teach understanding, critical thinking skills, and compassion. Art is not meant simply to reinforce our values, but also to show what can happen when things go awry in an effort to promote learning and affect change. We decided to donate to Turning Point of Lehigh Valley because we believe in your mission to eliminate domestic partner abuse in the Lehigh Valley through survivor empowerment, as well as community education and engagement. We are glad to do our part to support your effort. This endeavor has been a wonderful learning experience for our young artists. We thank you for all you are doing to make the world a better place".

An Evening of Unity is Turning Point's signature moment-when hundreds of supporters, local leaders, and survivors themselves light candles and declare: we believe you. We support you. We will not look away. Join us for An Evening of Unity scheduled for October 15 that will honor survivors and their new beginnings through stories, music, and a candlelight remembrance. This is not a typical fundraiser. It is a statement about who we are as a community.
