Ask Ms. G April Questions |
This month’s questions are in! Here’s a preview of what students are asking: - What services do you offer for someone with PTSD after being assaulted?
- Is having BPD an excuse to act controlling toward someone?

Why do men, men?

| Support our Spring-Cleaning Drive |
Your choice to donate to our Spring-Cleaning Drive provides the resources for a fresh start. For a survivor moving into a new, independent home, essential cleaning supplies are powerful tools for reclaiming their space and defining it on their own terms. Your contribution removes a financial burden and restores a sense of autonomy and dignity during a critical time of transition. And remember, gift cards place decision-making power directly in survivors' hands so they can purchase everyday items.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month |
If you are reading this and have been hurt by sexual violence, we want you to know something important: you are not alone. You deserve to be believed, supported, and cared for. This month is a reminder that your voice matters, your feelings matter, and your healing matters. Our community cares about you and wants you to feel safe.
Sexual assault means any unwanted sexual touch, pressure, or behavior. It can happen in many ways, and can often appear in domestic and intimate partner abuse where one person tries to have power and control over the other. It can also happen online, like when someone uses photos or messages to hurt or scare you. No matter what form it takes, the harm is real, and it can be very painful. You deserve safety, kindness, and support as you heal.
It’s okay if you are still trying to understand what happened or don’t know what to do next. You do not need to have all the answers right now. You deserve people who will stand by you and help you when you’re ready. If you ever want to reach out, there are safe and private places to get help. For those who have experienced sexual assault, Crime Victims Council is a key source of support in the Lehigh Valley, providing advocacy, resources, and guidance through the healing process. Their 24/7 hotline can be reached at 610-437-6611. For those facing domestic or intimate partner abuse, Turning Point of Lehigh Valley offers specialized services including crisis support, safety planning and ongoing care.
Together, our agencies work to ensure survivors receive compassionate, trauma-informed support that meets their specific needs. Whether you reach out for support now or later, you do not have to carry this alone. We believe you, we are here for you, and you deserve healing and support. |

New Beginnings and a Warm Welcome to our Director of Advancement, Susan Gottwald |
With spring upon us, the season reminds us that new beginnings are possible. For many of the survivors we serve, this time of year reflects the progress they are making as they move toward safety, stability, and renewed independence.
We wanted to make sure you had chance to read our latest Annual Report. It shares stories of the progress we are making alongside survivors and families across the Lehigh Valley. If you have a moment, take a look, and let us know if you had a chance to read it.
Thanks to friends like you, Turning Point continues to make meaningful progress not only in our day-to-day services, but also in the goals outlined in our strategic plan. We are strengthening programs, deepening community partnerships, and ensuring that when survivors reach out, they have access to the safety, advocacy, and support they deserve.
We're also pleased to introduce Susan Gottwald, our new Director of Advancement. She will serve in the same role as Meghan Baker previously held. Susan brings years of experience strengthening community-based programs and the funding partnerships that sustain them. Our Executive Director has known Susan for almost 20 years and is confident that her experience and commitment to our mission will serve Turning Point.
As we look ahead, there is much to share about the progress we are making and the opportunities in front of us. If you’d enjoy learning more, we hope you’ll reach out to Susan. Her email is susang@turningpointlv.org. |
