Community Gathers in Remembrance and Hope at our Annual Survivors Vigil

Each year, Turning Point of Lehigh Valley’s Annual Survivors Vigil serves as a deeply moving tribute to the strength and resilience of survivors, while honoring the lives of those lost to domestic and intimate partner abuse. This year’s Vigil was no exception—drawing together survivors, advocates, and community members for an evening of remembrance, healing, and unity.

Held at Ben Franklin TechVentures, the Vigil carried an atmosphere of compassion and unified commitment. Stories of survival, messages of hope, and heartfelt performances created a shared sense of purpose among all who attended.

Turning Point extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year’s Vigil possible:

Event Sponsor: Guardian – for their steadfast partnership and continued advocacy for survivors.

Community Partners: Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, Lehigh University’s Break the Silence, Moravian College, and Vicky Alercia-Casella LPC, Therapeutic Haven Creator, Licensed Professional Counselor – for their dedication to fostering awareness, inclusion, and compassion.

Venue Host: Wayne Barz and Ben Franklin Tech Ventures – for graciously opening their space and helping create an environment that embodied hope and connection.

Performers: Dina Hall, Max, The Easton High School Choir, and Cass Noel – for sharing their incredible talent and spirit.

Volunteers, speakers, and attendees – for standing with survivors and helping to keep the conversation around domestic and intimate partner abuse alive.

ADVOCACY IN ACTION

Board President

Congratulations to Board Member Paul Mazzucco for his recent election as President of the Board. Paul has served on the Board for 5 years, where he has actively put his skills as an entrepreneur and cybersecurity expert to use.  His next challenge will be helping us balance the uncertainty of government shutdowns while forging ahead to continue on our mission to empower survivors in our community.

Annual Report

Our latest Annual Report is now available, highlighting a year defined by choice, growth, and community. Inside, you’ll see how together we empowered survivors, expanded housing options, and strengthened education across the Lehigh Valley.

Every number tells a story of courage and possibility, and every story begins with your support.

Last year, we empowered 10,000 survivors by providing them with the tools and resources that enabled them to gain confidence and skills to take back control of their lives.

Investing in choice strengthened our finances and increased our In-kind contributions by 43%.

For every $1 raised, $.75 goes directly to free, survivor-centered services, 10% higher than the national nonprofit average.

We invite you to read about the impact of our work and share in what the power to choose meant to our survivors.

New questions! | Ask Ms. G

November’s youth questions are here…

This month, teens asked us asked thoughtful (and very honest) questions about their type, boundaries, and communication. Here’s what they wanted to know:

• How do I not give him the silent treatment?
• How do I find a relationship when I'm queer and everyone else is straight and ugly?
• What are some unhealthy boundaries?

I love how honest and curious these questions are. Thank you for trusting me with this space!
