Ms. Schoch tells the story of “Donna Miflin” a survivor of Domestic Partner Abuse in intimate telling detail, both from interviews with Ms. Miflin as well as journals from Ms. Miflin’s now-deceased husband. Ms. Schoch explains the dynamics of abusive relationships with compassion and professional insight and succeeds in answering the question: “Why do they stay?”
