Trauma-Informed Yoga in the Park with Larissa and Monique
September 26, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is excited to partner with West End Yoga Center for a special trauma-informed yoga class on Saturday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m.
Hypervigilance, intense and prolonged anxiety, impulsive action, the inability to calm down, and bouts of unexplainable aggression can be enduring symptoms of being in an abusive relationship.
Yoga and other behavioral practices like art therapy have been clinically proven to help survivors of domestic abuse learn how to better manage trauma-related symptoms. By using yoga as a therapeutic tool, survivors can learn how to reconnect to their bodies, decrease their level of anxiety, and even mitigate some the physiological changes that trauma often produces.
The class will be instructed by Larissa Noto and Monique Shetayh of West End Yoga Center. For those who would like to participate but are immunocompromised, a Zoom link to the class will be provided.
All proceeds to benefit Turning Point of Lehigh Valley. To register, please visit: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/tywlam/
All participants are required to wear a mask to enter and during set-up. Please bring your own mat and other props.
