Individual Counseling for Teens (Ages 14+): What It Is & What to Expect

At Turning Point, we offer short-term individual counseling for teens ages 14 and up who are navigating unhealthy relationships with themselves or others, or who have been impacted by seeing domestic violence at home.

This is not therapy and does not involve diagnosing or clinical treatment. Instead, our counseling is educational, supportive, and skill-based, designed to help teens better understand their experiences and build healthier ways of coping and connecting.

What Is Individual Counseling?

Individual counseling is a one-on-one, 8-week support program that takes place outside of the school setting. Sessions are focused on helping individuals make sense of what they are experiencing and develop tools they can use in everyday life.

How Do Teens Get Connected?

Teens can be referred through:

  • A parent or caregiver
  • A school or community partner
  • Self-referral

Teens can contact Turning Point directly to learn more about scheduling and next steps. Our team will explain the process and answer any questions.
