Celebrating Bradbury-Sullivan Center This Pride Month
Over the past decade, we have remained deeply committed to supporting LGBTQIA+ survivors throughout the Lehigh Valley through our ongoing partnership with the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center (BSCC). Through events such as the PA LGBTQIA+ Health Summit, and collaborative community programming, we have continued to highlight the importance of affirming, inclusive, and accessible services for LGBTQ+ survivors. Our partnership has reinforced the critical need for both emotional and physical safety in healthcare and community settings, while advocating for spaces where LGBTQ+ individuals feel respected and empowered to seek help without fear of discrimination or judgment.
Together, we have worked to elevate diverse survivor voices through educational webinars and collaborative outreach efforts. BSCC staff joined us during our Community Conversations Webinar, “Strength in Every Story: Supporting Survivors Across the Spectrum”, and later again, for “Every Survivor, Every Voice: Promoting Gender-Inclusive Support on College Campuses”, during Gender Equality Month. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) in October, we shared our confidential resources at BSCC’s Fall Resource Fair to help community members connect with affirming support services. BSCC staff also participated in our 2025 Annual Vigil, helping create a safe, welcoming space where survivors could access inclusive community resources to rebuild and heal after isolation caused by abuse.
Our partnership has also focused heavily on education. After six months of collaboration, we developed an interactive, scenario-based training designed for colleges to better understand the unique barriers that LGBTQIA+ survivors often face when seeking help. It emphasizes understanding LGBTQ+ identities, recognizing the signs of abuse specific to LGBTQ+ relationships, responding with empathy, and bridging the gaps in access to inclusive services. In March 2026, we also provided a trauma-informed training for BSCC staff to strengthen their ability to identify abuse, support community clients compassionately, and connect community members to appropriate resources.
We are continually grateful for the partnership we have built with BSCC and for the opportunity to advocate together for survivors of all identities, all year long. Through community education, resource sharing, and collaborative training initiatives, we remain dedicated to creating inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where survivors of all identities can feel seen, respected, and empowered to access the care, advocacy, and support they deserve.
Our Child and Teen Team welcomed Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center staff to collaborate during GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) club presentations, helping provide a supportive and empowering space for students who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. Their contributions created meaningful discussions for both students and staff, fostering education, connection, and inclusion. Bradbury-Sullivan staff joined our team at Easton Area High School and Emmaus High School GSA club meetings, where students and staff gained valuable insight and perspective through the experience.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Bradbury-Sullivan for their continued partnership and support. We truly value this collaboration and look forward to creating more opportunities to work together in the future.
