Expanding Our Reach, Strengthening Our Impact in Carbon County
Starting this year, Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is excited to announce that we now serve the Greater Lehigh Valley, which includes Carbon County. We are growing our team of advocates and educators and will soon be opening a satellite office in Carbon. As we expand, we are happy to announce two staffing updates that support the continued growth of our services in Carbon County.
After five years of dedicated service in our Lehigh Valley offices, Jessica (Murphy) Timmons has accepted a new role as Client Advocate serving Carbon County. Throughout her time with Turning Point, Jessica has built strong relationships with survivors and community partners while providing compassionate, client-centered advocacy.
We are also pleased to welcome Samantha Walsh to Turning Point as our new Outreach Advocate for Carbon County. Samantha brings enthusiasm, community connections, and a passion for supporting survivors and increasing awareness of available services throughout the county.
As Carbon County residents themselves, both Jessica and Samantha are uniquely positioned to connect with the community they call home. Their local knowledge and commitment to the region will help strengthen Turning Point’s presence and accessibility for survivors seeking support.

Getting to Know Jess & Samantha!
As they get to know everyone in the Carbon community, we asked Both Jess & Samatha to share a bit more info about themselves.
Jess, what has kept you motivated in your advocacy work over the past five years at Turning Point?
Seeing people that I have worked with go from being afraid, and not really remembering who they were before the incident that brought them into the courthouse, grow their confidence and transform into the people they knew they were on the inside, is what keeps me motivated to show up every day and give our clients a support system they may not have otherwise.
Samantha, what are you most looking forward to as you begin helping survivors in Carbon County?
I am most looking forward to being that reliable and trustworthy resource in the community for individuals experiencing domestic and intimate partner abuse. I believe it is very important to build strong relationships with community members and partners so that survivors know they have a safe and supportive place to turn when they need help.
As Carbon County residents, what do you enjoy most about the community?
Samantha: Living in one of the more rural areas of Carbon County, I enjoy the peacefulness and quietness about the community.
Jess: I love the quietness, beauty, and history of Carbon County, especially the Coal Region.
What is one fun fact about yourself that your coworkers might not know?
Jess: I was in band from 4th grade all through my 5 years in College. I am also a Life Member of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority.
Samantha: One fun fact about myself is that I’ve visited Walt Disney World 22 times and Disneyland Paris.
